Review of Equations of Motion from Octane

FIRST IMPRESSIONS of this dictionary-thick biography were not encouraging. At nearty 700 pages, with grey illustrations, lots of technical data and graphs. it looked a dull read. But then we looked more closely - and were drawn in.

Bill Milliken has had an amazing life. Pilot sports car racer and, above all, a brilliant and intuitive engineer, he has packed an unbelievable amount into his 96 years. The mechanical exploits of his 1920s childhood in Maine set the tone for a career that saw him become chief flight test engineer for Boeing and a pioneer of advanced chassis design.

Don"t sweat the technical stuff in here: just revel in the experiences of an amazing man, and a very full life.
